Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.

The Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
