The Scottish side kicked off their European journey in perfect fashion with a crucial four-try win on the road against Sale.

With the wind at their backs, the hosts began strongly and raced to a fourteen-point lead within 20 minutes. Scores from the Sale skipper and teenage debutant Ollie Davies put them in command.

But, the visitors responded admirably with a pair of scores before the interval. Forward Hiddleston and flanker Rory Darge both crossed to reduce the gap.

Additional after the break scores from captain Kyle Steyn and centurion Stafford McDowall extended Glasgow's lead to 26-14. Marius Louw's try for the hosts set up a nervous finale, but the visitors held firm to secure a major opening victory.

Glasgow Take Control After Half-Time

The match began with a quick try as Sale captain Ernst van Rhyn scored from close range after only two minutes. An early injury to midfielder Rekeiti Ma'asi-White introduced teenager Davies into the action for his European debut.

The youngster made an immediate impact. Moving to fly-half, he took a good angle to collect an offload and touch down, extending the home side's advantage.

Facing difficult conditions, the Warriors turned to their set-piece to get back into the game. A powerful driving maul was touched down by front-rower Gregor Hiddleston. Just before the half, Darge forced his way over, with Adam Hastings' kick making it a two-point game at half-time.

Glasgow took the advantage for the first occasion early in the second half. A misjudged kick was collected by No. 8 Jack Dempsey, who fed captain Kyle Steyn to break a challenge and sprint to the try-line.

Now in the driving seat, they secured the fourth try when Stafford McDowall ran through a defender to score his century for the team. This try completed a sequence of twenty-six unanswered points.

The hosts gave themselves a late hope when Louw showed neat skills to score. The kick made it a one-score game with time remaining.

A final opportunity came for them from a throw in the 22, but they failed to secure the possession, sealing the Warriors' triumph.
