Approximately 55,000 families have reportedly been harmed by the storms, with their belongings and temporary homes damaged.

Heavy precipitation over the past week have compounded the precarious living conditions of the many hundreds of thousands of uprooted Palestinians in the territory, as stated by humanitarian groups.

"Horrendous" Conditions Poses Serious Threats

A spokesman described the weather overnight as "awful", with rain so intense that up to 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the streets.

"The recent weather was exceptionally horrendous for the families. The heavy rains were so strong... And the winds were so strong," stated the official.

Officials express significant anxiety that young ones residing in temporary structures in soaked garments will contract hypothermia and additional sicknesses.

Fatalities and Significant Loss

Medical officials have reported that one baby has passed away from hypothermia and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in building collapses triggered by the storms.

Other reports put a increased number of casualties. Officials reported that multiple residential buildings had collapsed completely and many others had sustained partial collapse.

  • Nearly 55,000 families harmed by the weather.
  • More than 40 emergency safe spaces inundated.
  • Numerous individuals compelled to move once more.

Relief Operations Considered Inadequate

Organizations have increased distribution of tarpaulins, blankets and garments since the ceasefire commenced, but they have said there is still not enough aid entering.

"Officials are working relentlessly to deliver that relief and to hand it out, but the scale of the needs is so immense that we are faced with many thousands of families and minors who are really enduring hardship each evening," warned one spokesperson.

Future Issues and Ceasefire Terms

The subsequent part of the truce includes proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the withdrawal of troops, and other provisions.

Aid groups have stressed the imperative for "increased and sustained humanitarian assistance to address urgent and ongoing requirements."

The war was triggered by an assault in late 2023. Subsequent military operations have resulted in a significant number of fatalities in the area, based on health ministry figures.
