Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Posted on Instagram
The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
