An individual of Australian nationality who vaulted over a barricade and reached for Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and prohibited from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was sentenced to nine days in jail for being a public nuisance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities told Singaporean press.

Wen pushed through camera crews and charged at the performer and artist, who was attending the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in this summer.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with several individuals accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has mentioned suffering from PTSD after a explosive incident at her concert in the UK city in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of over twenty people and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff stopped him and held him in place.

The man subsequently shared recordings thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Police took him into custody the next day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The District Judge the magistrate was quoted by a news outlet as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", noting that he was mistaken to believe he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not addressed the case.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the situation to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to ensure my friend was secure."

"I'm sure he didn't mean us harm, but you never know with these incidents, and I wanted to ensure that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she stated.
