The Alarm

According to a report citing a family associate, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had gone with her promptly called 911. Afterward, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained without bail.

The confidential informant questioned several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

The source also disputed circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement applies to descriptions of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the state of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a period of time.
