The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign seeks to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The notable list of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a group of music creators. The track showcases a fusion of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The team running the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These resources will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
