The Two Fatalities Revealed in Brown University Shooting as Law Enforcement Press On With Manhunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who died in the weekend's violent attack in Providence had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their killer persisted following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the only individual detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was described as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

She served as the vice-presidency of Brown’s branch of the College Republicans organization, the group said. The White House press secretary also expressed condolences online, saying in part: “There are no words. Remembering her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, according to relatives.

Umurzokov’s identity was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He harbored grand aspirations of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

Details of the Attack

Nine more persons were wounded in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Officials stated on Sunday evening that a 24-year-old male detained in a search at a lodging about around 27 kilometers from the campus earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“There is a killer at large,” stated the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you have to regroup and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last 24 hours or so.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, acknowledged: “We know that this is likely to cause fresh anxiety for our community”.

The shooter discharged a weapon inside a classroom in the building on Saturday, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm pistol, a police source reported to the Associated Press.

Police that raided the hotel found a pair of pistols and magazines when the person of interest was arrested, as was reported.

The Wounded Victims

Among those wounded, one pupil was released from the hospital, mentioned Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, police said on Sunday.

An educational institution, a private academy in Durham, North Carolina, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was in the group of seriously hurt victims.

More Condolences

Tributes were paid to Cook at a memorial in Birmingham on Sunday. A clergyman said, “Her presence was a wonderful, steady, pious glow not only in her youth... but at Brown she was a radiant presence in that institution as well.”

Martin Bertao, Martin Bertao, shared a message from the club. “Ella was known for her bold, brave, and kind heart as she worked for her branch and peers,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by Umurzokov’s death in a tribute. “We extend our sincere condolences to his relatives, loved ones, and schoolmates and mourn the loss of his bright future.”
