Trump's Organization Sought to Hire Almost 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025
Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its recruitment of overseas employees on short-term work permits this period, even as his administration was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the identical, an analysis released Thursday claimed.
According to information from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The revelation comes amid a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has involved the introduction of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; increased review of the actions of the 55 million people who already hold American work permits; and tighter regulations for foreign students and journalists.
In total, the Trump Organization aimed to hire over 560 overseas workers over the period the former president has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.
Notably, the former president was questioned by certain in the GOP this period for comments defending the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill particular roles.
“You can’t just say a country is coming in, going to spend billions to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in five years, and they’re going to start producing their defense systems. It isn’t feasible that well,” he told a host after it was implied that overseas employees lower the pay of American employees.
The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
